Counselor in Training
Both Sessions

Camp Midicha campers become part of the "Midicha Family" when they reach their teenage years and start looking to the future and how to become counselors. This program is a great first step. The C.I.T. Program is designed to continue making camp fun, while also creating opportunities to develop leadership skills. C.I.T.'s learn the importance of a strong work ethic and those ever-important people skills. The program begins with great team building activities and an action-packed weekend between sessions. Application and interview required for admission. Must have completed the 11th grade. Two (2) nights in tents.

The CIT's will have a face to face interview with the YMCA staff on April 22 at Camp Copneconic.

About The Camp

The home of the Association's Camp Midicha is the YMCA's Camp Copneconic. YMCA's Camp Copneconic is accredited by the American Camp Association. Camp Copneconic partners with Camp Midicha to provide campsite, dining accommodations, program and counselor staff. Camp Copneconic is located in Fenton, just south of Flint, Michigan. All our staff, from the directors and administrators to the counselors, specialists and support staff, work hard to make sure your child has fun in a safe environment. Our staff has training in diabetes management, emergency procedures and cabin supervision. Every counselor goes through extensive training by the YMCA, addressing team building, homesickness and behavior management.

"Our daughter has found great joy in attending Camp Midicha, as she finally has that one place where her disease does not make her different from her peers. Even for a brief time, our daughter finds solace in being able to share her story, her concerns and her dreams for a better tomorrow with her other cmap friends who truly understand what she is going through." ~ Anonymous Parent
