American Diabetes Association Camp

About Camp JADA

Camp JADA, a program of the American Diabetes Association, is moving to a new location for 2013! Join us at The Bolles School this June for Camp JADA’s 26th year. With guidance from camp staff, our campers are encouraged to participate in a variety of fun activities while developing the independence and confidence necessary for successfully managing their diabetes. Sharing experiences with other campers who live a similar lifestyle encourages acceptance and promotes a positive self-image, while also achieving your child’s main goal in attending camp – having fun!

While swimming, crafting, and running relays, campers will also be learning about nutrition, exercise, insulin, and blood glucose monitoring. Our first priority is not perfecting blood sugar management but rather the safety of your child while they enjoy a traditional camp experience. Camp JADA medical staff is always present to administer necessary medical care. Blood testing and insulin administration are also conducted under certified medical supervision.

The American Diabetes Association is committed to providing educational information and referral services for children with diabetes and their families, advocating for fair and quality treatment of children with diabetes in schools, and increasing federal funding for diabetes research.
