About Camp Needlepoint

The purpose of Camp Needlepoint is to provide a fun and safe camping experience for children living with diabetes. We want to give kids the opportunity to meet other kids just like them as well as help them gain confidence and independence in managing their diabetes.

Camp is located at YMCA Camp St. Croix, south of Hudson, WI on a wooded bluff along the St. Croix River.  Facilities include: a 24 hour health center, dining hall, crafts building, nature building, tennis and basketball courts, soccer fields, archery range, sand volleyball court, rope course and horseback riding area. The beach is equipped for canoeing, sailing, kayaking and swimming.

Camp Needlepoint has two sessions:

Counselor-in-Traning (CIT) Information

CIT Age: 17

The CIT program is a transitional period between camper and staff for 17 year olds. Applicants (not parents) can request more information by contacting Becky Barnett at rbarnett@diabetes.org or 763-593-5333 ext. 6596.
