Camp Sioux - Session 1

About Camp Sioux

The purpose of Camp Sioux is to provide a fun and safe camping experience for children living with diabetes. We want to give kids the opportunity to meet other kids just like them as well as help them gain confidence and independence in managing their diabetes.

Camp Sioux is held at Park River Bible Camp in Park River, North Dakota. Facilities include: a 24 hour health center, dining hall, crafts barn, pool, nature trails, basketball and 4-square courts, soccer fields, archery range, high ropes course and a gaga pit. (If you don't know what a gaga pit is you'll just have to come to camp and find out!)

Camp Sioux has two sessions:

Camp Fees

Non-Refundable Deposit: $25
Camp Fee:
  • Ages 8 to 11: $125
  • Ages 12 to 15: $155
Total Fee (including non-refundable deposit):
  • Ages 8 to 11: $150
  • Ages 12 to 15: $180

Counselor-in-Traning (CIT) Information

CIT Ages: 16 to 17

CIT’s are given the opportunity to assist counselors with cabin groups and prepares them for a future camp counselor position. Previous camp experience not required. To apply for the CIT program contact Becky Barnett at rbarnett@diabetes.org or 763-593-5333 ext. 6596.
