About Camp Wana Kura
The American Diabetes Association's Camp Wana Kura day camp is a fun filled camp full of interactive activities such as games, swimming and much more!
This year's theme is "Under the Sea!"
Camp Fees
Camp Fee: $50 per camper
Financial Assistance is available based on need.
Registration Deadline: June 30, 2013
Enrollment is limited to 150 campers with diabetes. Enrollment closes June 30, 2013.
Once online registration is completed, confirmation and information regarding supplemental forms will be sent to you via email. These forms MUST be completed and returned no later than June 30, 2013 in order for your child to attend Camp Wana Kura. Due to limited capacity, Camp Wana Kura is only open for children with diabetes.
Check In/Check Out
Check in is 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Check out is 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Aftercare has been discontinued.
Teen Volunteers
If you are a teen and interested in volunteering, please read the information below BEFORE completing the on-line application:
- Registration fee: $0
- Apply early, positions are limited.
- Teens with diabetes must be at least 13 year of age (as of July 23, 2013).
- Teens without diabetes must be 15-17 years of age (as of July 23, 2013).
- Preference will be given to teens with diabetes and those who have siblings with diabetes.
- Teens should plan to volunteer for all 4 days and participate in training activities.
- Service credit: Service credit will be awarded based on participation (32 hours maximum for the camp session).
- Once online registration is completed, confirmation and information regarding supplemental forms will be sent to you via email. These forms MUST be completed and returned no later than June 30, 2013 in order to attend Camp Wana.
Adult Volunteers
Updated 3/29/13: Adult staff registration will begin at a later date, to be determined, after April 1. Please check back at the end of April for further details.
If you are a RETURNING adult volunteer, you will be sent an email invitation at the end of April with information on how to register.
If you are a NEW adult volunteer, please contact Judy McClain at jmcclain@diabetes.org for an email invitation with information on how to long on to register as adult staff.
