Financial Assistance
Financial Assistance to American Diabetes Association Camps
Regardless of your ability to pay for Camp, the American Diabetes Association is committed to providing a camp experience to children living with diabetes.
We strive to keep the Camp fee as low as possible for families. Through the Association's year-round fundraising efforts and generous donors, we only charge families 50% of the true cost to provide camp for a child.
In addition, camperships are available to help families pay the Camp fee. The amount of assistance awarded is based on financial need. We use a sliding scale to determine if you qualify for partial or full campership.
How do I apply for a Campership to an American Diabetes Association Camp?
It's easy to apply for financial assistance/campership to an American Diabetes Association Camp. First you and your child need to decide which Camp to go to.
Then:
- Register your child for Camp.
- Request the Campership Application from your local American Diabetes Association.
- Complete the application.
- Submit the application with a copy of your 1040, 1040EZ or 1040A as your proof of income to your local American Diabetes Association.
After your local American Diabetes Association has received your completed camp application and financial assistance application, they will notify you of the amount of assistance you will receive.
Financial Assistance for Other Diabetes Camps
While the American Diabetes Association is the largest provider of Diabetes Camps in the world, you may live in a place where a Camp operated by the Association is not available.
That's why we have relationships with other Diabetes Camps that meet our tough standards for program quality and medical care. The American Diabetes Association is pleased to provide limited funding to these camps to help with financial assistance for families.
If your child is interested in attending one of the camps listed below, please apply directly to that camp for financial assistance. They will provide all necessary paperwork and instructions.
