Post-Secondary Education
Legal protections against discrimination continue beyond high school graduation. However, it is not automatically assumed that a student who is receives accommodations and services in high school will need or be provided with those same services in college or technical school.
This is a time of transition when parents should be handing over the responsibility for securing accommodations and services to the individual student. Parents and students should inquire about the process for evaluation and securing services with the office of disability services as soon as the student decides where s/he will attend.
