Do cinnamon capsules help type 2 diabetes?
There has been some research about cinnamon and its effect on blood glucose, blood pressure, and blood cholesterol. However, results have been conflicting. There is not enough evidence from research to claim that including cinnamon in your daily diet will help regulate blood glucose in people with diabetes.
If interested in the research, this meta-analysis may be of interest to you: The Effect of Cinnamon on Glucose Control and Lipid Parameters.
People with diabetes should watch their intake of unhealthy fats (saturated and trans fat) and sodium (salt) to keep their cholesterol and blood pressure under control. Cinnamon and other spices and herbs are a great alternative to using butter, salt, and processed meats to add flavor to your food. Spices and herbs will give your food a fresh, natural flavor and add almost no calories, fat, salt, or carbohydrates.
