Donor-Directed Research Projects
An Association-funded research project that is "donor-directed" means that a very generous Pinnacle Society donor or donors have dedicated $1 Million or more to the Association's Research Foundation to start a diabetes scientific initiative in an area of their interest.
We greatly appreciate the dedication of our partners who have established donor-directed projects. Their contributions fund the research that incites watershed outcomes in all areas of diabetes science.
To learn more about how to create a donor-directed research project, please contact Elly Brtva at 1-800-676-4065, ext, 4377 or ebrtva@diabetes.org.
Current donor-directed research projects include:
Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Distinguished Clinical Scientist Awards
Takeda Pharmaceuticals Beta Cell Postdoctoral Fellowship Programs and
The Takeda Pharmaceuticals Cardiovascular Complications Postdoctoral Fellowship Programs
The Richard and Susan Smith Family Foundation Pinnacle Program Project Awards
Islet Cell Replacement in Type 1 Diabetes Award
The Terry and Louise Gregg Diabetes in Pregnancy Research Award
