Since its inception in 1952, the American Diabetes Association Research Program has invested more than $640 million in diabetes research, supporting nearly 4000 projects. In 2012 alone, the Association invested nearly $34.6 million in diabetes research, and our program included 450 ongoing research projects across the country.

The American Diabetes Association supports research across the broad spectrum of diabetes topic areas, including type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, diabetes complications, obesity, gestational diabetes, and prevention.
