Our National Sponsors play a crucial role in helping ADA raise much-needed funds and increasing awareness of diabetes and ADA.  Their support helps improve the lives of people affected by diabetes, it helps those at risk to prevent diabetes, and it brings us closer to a cure every day.

We thank the following National Sponsors for their valuable support; and we urge other companies to support the diabetes community through the American Diabetes Association.

American Medical ID manufactures custom engraved
and custom fitted medical IDs for those living with
diabetes and other related health conditions. Through
December 2008,  American Medical is donating 20% from the sale of identification products purchased by ADA supporters, with a minimum guarantee of $35.000.  They’re also providing IDs to select ADA camps, and educating young campers about the importance of medical IDs.

The Bank of America is supporting the fight against diabetes through its Affinity Credit Card program, which is offered to all ADA constituents. The ADA is paid a royalty for all accounts with active charging privileges. Through April 2009, Bank of America will make a contribution of $50.00 to ADA for every new account that is opened or renewed. And, for every $100.00 of net retail purchases charged to an ADA/Bank of America Credit Card, the ADA receives $0.50. Annual minimum contribution is $200,000.

Campbell’s V8 Brand is working with the ADA to educate people on simple ways to eat healthier and live better.  Thanks in part to the support from the V8 brand, ADA developed a comprehensive guide entitled “What Can I Eat?” that is available free of charge from ADA’s toll free call center (800-DIABETES).  In addition, the brand is sponsoring the monthly “Ask the Nutritionist” web chat on diabetes.org.

In 2003, Day-Timers and ADA worked together to develop a unique planning tool that helps make diabetes record-keeping easier than ever.  This all-in-one organizer keeps track of daily schedules and activities along with medications, blood glucose levels, doctor’s appointments, food intake and more. Through December 2008, Day-Timers will donate 15% from the sale of each diabetes planner to ADA . The Association has received more than $238,000 to date to support mission-related activities.

Goya is supporting ADA’s mission by reaching out to the Latino population with information about healthy living through advertising, consumer promotions, and its sponsorship of ADA’s Por Tu Familia program.  In addition, they are sponsoring a new ‘Latino Recipe of the Week ’, which is sure to be a big hit on the ADA web site.

A supporter for more than 14 years, Equal Sweetener has been a long-time sponsor of ADA’s premiere fundraising event, Step Out To Fight Diabetes. They have also sponsored ADA’s extremely popular Recipe of the Day on diabetes.org - providing healthy eating options to those affected by diabetes.

The Oppenheimer Group, one of North America’s leading fresh produce companies, has joined ADA as a national sponsor of the “I Decide To Fight Diabetes” campaign. Oppenheimer will champion the cause of diabetes by encouraging consumers to decide to incorporate fresh fruits and vegetables into every meal. Throughout 2008, ADA and Oppenheimer will work together to create awareness in retail stores through point of sale and other educational materials.
