Participate in an Event
Each year, hundreds of thousands of people participate in the fund-raising events of the American Diabetes Association. These events are a fun way for Americans across the country to make a difference in their local community by increasing awareness of diabetes, while at the same time raising millions of dollars in the fight against this disease. We hope that you participate in our events too.
Below you will find a brief description of the ADA "signature" events, events that occur the same throughout the country. Check your local areas for other events that may be taking place as well, such as Gala and Golf events.

Step Out to Fight Diabetes, formerly America's Walk for Diabetes, is about changing the face of diabetes in our country—by raising funds to help find a cure and by walking a few miles to bring a greater awareness to this devastating disease.
Step Out is a whirlwind day packed with energy, fun, support for others and a perfect amount of selfless dedication. Anyone can take part in Step Out—your participation isn't measured by your dexterity or the speed you walk, but by the level of your enthusiasm and your commitment to ending diabetes.
Gather your friends and family to walk and raise funds for Step Out to Fight Diabetes in your city. Together, we can crush this epidemic. |

School Walk for DiabetesTM is the ADA's signature school-based event. It is an educational, school fund-raising program that promotes community service, school spirit and healthy living to students. Kiss-A-Pig® is one of the Association's unique fund-raising campaigns. To "honor" the pig for aiding in discovering the effectiveness of insulin for people with diabetes, participants compete with each other to see who can raise the most money. The participant who raises the most money, usually a CEO or business executive, earns the honor of greeting the Kiss-A-Pig pig with a kiss. This greeting occurs at the final rally, sometimes a dinner party or gala. Kiss-A-Pig events take place in several cities nationwide, and raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Association. If you or someone you know is the perfect candidate for this event and you need additional information, please call 1-888-DIABETES.
