Massachusetts Students with Diabetes Must Be Safe at School!
In schools across our state, a student with diabetes may be in jeopardy because there isn’t a school nurse available to help them treat a severe low blood sugar emergency. Most states allow school personnel to volunteer to be trained to give glucagon, a life-saving medication, that treats severe blood glucose incidents. Unfortunately, Massachusetts prohibits school staff from helping!
There's no time to waste! Ask our senators to support Senate Bill 335 today and allow school people to volunteer to help.
House Bill 677, which would cap insulin copays to $25 per prescription for those on state-regulated health plans, has been introduced in our state! How can you help get it passed? Share your story.
We must act now! Please ask Gov. Justice to pass legislation to lower the price eligible West Virginians would pay for their lifesaving insulin and devices.
We simply cannot wait until the new legislature begins work in January!
The Legislature needs to hear your stories!
ADA is collecting a story bank to help our elected officials understand how important it is to make insulin more affordable. If you or someone you know has been impacted by the cost of insulin, please share your story. Your stories about how the price of insulin has adversely affected you and your family are powerful and needed!
