- If your health care provider is reluctant to write a letter to support your request for reasonable accommodations, or has told you that it is their policy not to write letters, keep in mind that physicians are busier than ever before because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and may have developed this position because of a lack of time. Sharing the ADA’s Sample Physician Letter for Requesting Reasonable Accommodations should help show your physician that it is not as time-consuming as they may have thought, and that their drafting such a letter is critical to support your diabetes management and overall health.
